Privacy policy in simple words.
Kif is an iPhone app for tracking savings goals. I'm Shahid, I built it on my own, and I don't collect anything about you. There is no account, no ads, no analytics, no bank connection and no server of mine that the app talks to.
What the app saves, and where
Everything below is saved on your phone only. I can't see any of it.
- Your goals: the name, emoji, target amount and target date you give them
- Your saved balance
- Your savings history: each amount you add or withdraw, the date, and any note you write
- Your settings: currency, theme, reminders and app lock
You type in all of these numbers yourself. Kif never connects to your bank or reads any of your accounts.
Widgets
The Kif widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen read your balance and goals from the same storage on your phone. Nothing leaves your phone for the widgets to work.
Kif Pro purchases
Kif Pro is an optional upgrade, sold as a yearly subscription or a one-time purchase. Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. Apple only tells the app whether Pro is active, so it can unlock the Pro features.
You can manage or cancel the subscription in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Apple's own handling of purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
When the app uses the internet
Kif works offline. The only time it goes online is through Apple's App Store, to show Kif Pro prices, make or restore a purchase, check whether Pro is active, or show Apple's rating prompt. Kif itself sends nothing about you or your money anywhere.
Permissions
- Notifications: only if you turn on savings reminders. The reminders are scheduled on your phone, and they stay off until you turn them on.
- Face ID: only if you turn on app lock. iOS checks your face or passcode and tells Kif whether it matched. Kif never sees or stores your face data or passcode.
Exporting your data
With Kif Pro you can export your goals and history as a CSV file. The file is created on your phone and only goes wherever you choose to send or save it.
Phone backup
If iCloud Backup or computer backup is turned on, your Kif data is included in your iPhone backup, so it comes back when you move to a new phone. That backup is between you and Apple. I have no access to it.
Sharing
I don't have your data, so there is nothing for me to sell or share with anyone.
Deleting your data
Delete Kif from your Home Screen, or from Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage. That removes everything it saved, and there is nothing to delete on my side. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a Kif Pro subscription, so cancel that in Settings first if you want to stop paying.
Children
The app is fine for all ages and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app starts handling data differently, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
