Privacy policy in simple words.
This policy covers Dotti, the to-do list for iPhone. I'm Shahid, I built it on my own. There is no account and no ads, and your tasks never leave your iPhone. The only data that leaves the app is a record of Dotti Pro purchases, described below.
What the app saves, and where
Everything below is saved on your iPhone only. I can't see any of it.
- Your tasks, with their notes, dates, priorities, repeats and subtasks
- Your lists, their names, icons and colours
- The first name you typed during setup, used only to greet you
- Your settings: theme, accent colour, haptics and the morning briefing time
- The completion history that powers your streak and Insights
Widgets
Dotti's Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your tasks from a shared space on your iPhone so they can show what's left today and let you tick tasks off. That data never leaves your device.
Notifications
Reminders and the morning briefing are scheduled on your iPhone by iOS. The app asks for permission first, and you can turn notifications off at any time in Settings. Nothing is sent through a server.
Internet
Dotti works fully offline. Your tasks, lists and notes are never sent anywhere. The app only goes online for Dotti Pro: to load prices, buy or restore Pro through the App Store, and to record purchases with RevenueCat as explained below.
Purchases
Dotti Pro subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The app only receives the confirmation it needs to unlock Pro. I never see your payment details, and you can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings.
To understand how Pro is doing, Dotti uses RevenueCat to record purchase history: which plan was bought, when, the price and the country. It is tied to a random ID that RevenueCat creates, not to your name, email or Apple account, so neither RevenueCat nor I can tell who you are. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps.
Phone backup
If backup is turned on, your tasks and settings can be saved with your iCloud or computer backup, so they come back when you move to a new iPhone. That backup is between you and Apple. I have no access to it.
Sharing
I don't sell or share any data. Your tasks stay on your device, and the anonymous purchase records are only used to run Dotti Pro.
Deleting your data
Delete the app. That removes everything it saved on your iPhone. The anonymous purchase records can't be traced back to you, but if you'd like them removed, email me and I'll ask RevenueCat to delete them.
Children
The app is fine for all ages and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app starts handling data differently, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
